How The Handy Bro Works
A different kind of bro.
Every job follows the same five-step process: free property walk, written scope and quote, scheduled arrival, clean execution, and before-and-after documentation. The process is built to eliminate surprises and produce work you can hold up to scrutiny. The Handy Bro personally handles every step.
The Five Steps
Every job, every property
Free Property Walk
The Handy Bro visits the property to confirm scope, wall type, access, materials, and any specifics that affect the install or repair. No charge, no obligation.
Written Scope and Quote
After the walk, you receive a written summary of the scope and a clear quote. The number is the number, no surprise add-ons unless you approve a scope change.
Scheduled Arrival
You pick a date that fits your calendar. The Handy Bro confirms arrival window, and you get a reminder before the visit so the day isn't disrupted.
Clean Execution
Drop cloths down, dust contained, and the work area cleaned at the end. Honest mid-job calls if anything unexpected shows up.
Documentation
Before and after photos for every job. Useful for your records, insurance, and real estate listing prep where photo documentation matters.
Why the Property Walk Matters
Step one is the foundation
Most handyman frustration starts with a quote produced over the phone, based on assumptions. The wall turns out to be plaster instead of drywall. The TV mount needs a stud that isn't there. The faucet supply line is corroded and needs replacement before the new fixture goes in. The "two hour job" becomes a "five hour job" with an invoice that surprises everyone.
The free property walk eliminates that pattern. The Handy Bro spends 30 to 60 minutes at your property confirming the actual conditions. The scope written from the walk reflects what's really there: wall type, access, materials, electrical or plumbing considerations, and any adjacent items worth handling on the same visit. The quote that follows is honest, and the work proceeds without surprises.
The walk is also a chance to flag adjacent work that makes sense to bundle. If The Handy Bro is already coming out to mount a TV, hanging the curtain rods in the same room or installing a couple of shelves makes the visit more efficient for both sides. The walk is where those combinations get identified.

Process Questions
Frequently asked
How Quickly Can I Get a Property Walk?
Most Hill Country property walks are scheduled within 3 to 7 days depending on the area. Closer areas like Dripping Springs, Driftwood, and Buda are usually faster. Farther areas like Marble Falls or Spicewood schedule on the regular route days.
Is the Property Walk Really Free?
Yes. No charge, no obligation, no high-pressure follow-up. The walk is how we ensure the quote that follows is honest. If you decide not to move forward after the walk, that's fine, no fee owed.
Can I Get a Quote Without a Property Walk?
For very simple jobs (single TV mount on standard drywall, single light fixture swap), The Handy Bro can sometimes give a rough estimate over the phone. For anything that depends on wall type, access, or adjacent scope, the property walk produces a much more honest number.
What If the Scope Changes Mid-Job?
Honest call. The Handy Bro stops and talks through what changed and what the new scope and pricing look like. You decide whether to proceed, adjust, or defer. No work proceeds without your approval on scope changes.
How Do You Handle Materials?
Most homeowners purchase the fixture, fan, mount, or hardware ahead of time. The Handy Bro can recommend products during the property walk based on wall type, use case, and budget. Standard install hardware (anchors, screws, drop cloths) comes with the install.
How Do Payments Work?
Invoice on completion with HouseCall Pro. Pay by card, ACH, or check. No deposit required on standard small jobs. Larger Half Day or Full Day Blocks may have a 25-50% deposit at scheduling.
Ready to Get Scoped?
Free property walk, no pressure, transparent scope before any work begins. The Handy Bro personally handles every job across Dripping Springs and the Texas Hill Country.
