About The Handy Bro

A different kind of bro.

The Handy Bro is a locally owned handyman and home improvement company in Dripping Springs, TX. Founded and run by a tradesman with 15+ years of hands-on experience across the Texas Hill Country. The business model is intentionally narrow: small to mid size jobs, personally handled, with a free property walk before every quote.

Why The Handy Bro Started

After 15+ years in the trades, The Handy Bro noticed a pattern across the Hill Country: homeowners struggling to find a reliable handyman for the small to mid size jobs that don't justify a general contractor but still need to be done right. The big rebuild companies don't return calls for a TV mount or a ceiling fan. The individual handymen who do show up are often unprepared, unreliable on timing, or padding the scope to make the job worth their drive.

The Handy Bro is built around solving that gap. Small jobs are welcome. Quotes are honest. Communication is proactive. The work is documented. And the relationship is built for repeat work rather than a one-time visit, which is why every job ends with a property walk that identifies anything else worth handling before it becomes a bigger problem.

The name is intentional. Amanda picked the tagline ("A different kind of bro.") to capture the brand voice: warm but not fluffy, competent but not corporate. Rugged enough to handle Hill Country work, professional enough to show up clean and on time.

What Sets The Handy Bro Apart

Small jobs welcome

No Minimum Job Size

A single TV mount, a couple of curtain rods, one ceiling fan: all welcome jobs. The Handy Bro focuses on small to mid size work as a specialty, not as an afterthought between larger projects.

Free property walk

Honest Scope Before Any Work Begins

Every job starts with a free property walk. The Handy Bro visits the property, confirms wall type, access, materials, and any considerations specific to the install or repair. The quote that follows is based on what's actually there, not best-case assumptions.

Local route

Hill Country Focus

The service area covers Dripping Springs and the Texas Hill Country: Driftwood, Wimberley, Buda, Kyle, Oak Hill, Manchaca, Sunset Valley, Bee Cave, Lakeway, South Austin, Spicewood, and Marble Falls. The regular route through these areas keeps drive-time costs predictable.

Common Questions About The Handy Bro

Does The Handy Bro Personally Do Every Job?

Yes. The Handy Bro is intentionally not a multi-crew operation. The Handy Bro personally handles every property walk and every job, so the work quality stays consistent and the relationship stays direct.

What's the Smallest Job The Handy Bro Will Take?

There's no minimum. A single TV mount, replacing one light fixture, or hanging a couple of shelves are all welcome calls. Small jobs are the focus, not the afterthought.

What's the Largest Job The Handy Bro Will Take?

Small to mid size jobs across the trades The Handy Bro handles: interior installs, preventative maintenance, deck and fence work, and outdoor projects. Full property rebuilds and major construction are outside the scope and get referred to a general contractor.

Why Is the Property Walk Free?

Two reasons. First, an honest quote requires seeing the actual conditions: wall type, access, materials, anything specific to the install. Quoting blind leads to surprise add-ons. Second, the property walk is a relationship-building step that consistently leads to better work scoping and repeat business. Charging for it would defeat both purposes.

How Quickly Can The Handy Bro Schedule a Property Walk?

Most Hill Country property walks are scheduled within 3 to 7 days depending on the area. Closer areas like Dripping Springs, Driftwood, and Buda are usually faster. Farther areas like Marble Falls or Spicewood schedule on the regular route days.

Does The Handy Bro Handle Real Estate Listing Prep?

Yes. Real estate agent partnerships are a significant part of the work, with listing prep, punch lists, and pre-photography touch-ups all within scope. The before-and-after documentation built into every job is especially useful for listing photo records.
